LTHS 205 Foundation Golf Outing

The 23rd Annual Golf Outing was a success! The Foundation hosted 70 golfers with an additional 28 guests for dinner. Twelve student scholarship recipients volunteered and were recognized at the event. It was a great outing that raised over $15,000 with the help of our generous sponsors.

 

Senior Sunrise

Senior Porters attended the “Senior Sunrise” on May 20th and arrived early in the morning on the last full Friday of the school year to socialize, play games, listen to music, and have fun before the school day started.

 

TWIRP

Porters had an amazing time at the TWIRP dance on Saturday, May 14th. The weather was great for this outdoor event. The students enjoyed a live DJ, games, and making lasting memories with their friends.

 

Spring Musical

The Lockport Theatre Porter Players had a blast presenting Annie in May. The cast put their heart and soul into four performances for the community, including a matinee for our feeder schools. Another great job by these talented students!

 

Technology Assistance Center Crew

Congratulations to our Technology Assistance Center (TAC) Crew for being part of the inaugural Technology Internship Program at LTHS! The TAC Crew has exceeded the expectations of providing a Chromebook service program managed by students for students.

School to Apprenticeship

Nate Mowery, Jose Martinez, Oscar Diaz & Jake Haas enjoyed a dinner at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) 176 to celebrate their successful completion of the school apprenticeship program. The students completed OSHA training, first aid/CPR training, and were interviewed by a local apprenticeship program. The students are now eligible for full-time employment this summer with local unions.

 

Safety Poster Contest

Students from Product Marketing & Sports Marketing classes participated in the Safety Poster contest through the Three Rivers Education Partnership. LTHS is proud to have a First Place winner and 14 finalists. Great job Porters!

 

Seniors Will Grow Event

LTHS held its first Seniors Will Grow event in partnership with the We Will Grow Community Garden Program, Will County Illinois & the Will County Land Use Development on May 21st. While rain was in the forecast, the event kicked off with the help of our 50+ student volunteers, sponsors, Colleen Martin, Chris Davis, Alumn DeLinda Herod, Bus Drivers, and team leaders. The day involved planting and gardening for the Fairmont senior citizens and ended their work at the Fairmont Community Center. Such a great success for collaborating together! #BestTogether

 
 

Annual Art Show

LTHS students displayed their artwork at the Annual Art Show Opening Night Reception & Award Ceremony on May 10th. It was amazing to see all the talent of our Porters.

 
 
 

Book Donation Drive

Students from LTHS Interact, Spanish Honor Society & Future Educators Clubs completed service hours at The Giving Tree & Lockport Resource Center which collected a huge supply of books to donate & packed 64 boxes of books!

 

Lewis University Media Career Day

Lewis University Communication Department High School Visit Day was a success! Lockport Township High School students experienced the broadcast side of communications and were DJs and anchors for a day. 

Fresh Start | Class of 2026

Fresh Start is a unique opportunity for incoming freshmen to transition from 8th grade to high school. This year over 360 students participated in the summer program. Fresh Start introduces incoming Freshmen to the staff and gets them familiar with Central Campus. They were able to make friends and learn valuable skills that will ease their anxiety and get them off to a successful start.

 

Meet Our Newest Dean 

Michele Flanagan will be the newest Dean at East Campus beginning the 2022 -2023 School year. Ms. Flanagan was a College Career Applications teacher at Lockport Township High School prior to her new appointment. Congratulations!

Staff Continued Education

Deanna Gregorich, LTHS Public Relations Specialist, graduated from Franklin University Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations. Congrats! 

 

 

School Resource Officers

At the LTHS Board of Education meeting on April 25, the City of Lockport Intergovernmental Agreement for School Resource Officer (SRO) was approved. Superintendent Completes Leadership Academy

Superintendent Dr. Robert McBride has earned the unique distinction of being named an ISAL Fellow after completing the IASA School for Advanced Leadership (ISAL) academy program designed to elevate the superintendent’s leadership skills and impact student achievement. East Campus Principal Receives Award

Dr. John Greenan, Principal of East Campus, has been selected as the 2022 High School Principal of the Year for the Illinois Principals Association Three Rivers Region. Congratulations! #TogetherWeSucceed

 

William & Mildred Jackson Teacher Recognition Award

Chad Goetz was selected as this year’s recipient of the William & Mildred Jackson Teacher Recognition Award. The award is sponsored by LTHS alumni Robert Carr & Jill Jackson Carr through Give Something Back & facilitated by the LTHS D205 Foundation.

Maroon Apple Recipients

The Lockport Township High School Foundation presented the Maroon Apple Award to Danielle Sabo from East Campus and Kevin Conway from Central Campus. The Maroon Apple recipients are nominated by their peers for going above and beyond. Congrats!
